Did you know that there are 1,144 different versions of Monopoly? Did you also know that UNO has sold more than 150 million copies since it’s first release in 1971? There are so many fun facts about the games that we all know and love. For example, have you ever noticed how similar UNO and Crazy 8’s are? That’s because that’s where Merle Robbins, the inventor of UNO, got his inspiration from. He was playing Crazy 8’s when his son kept getting confused on how to play. Merle’s solution was to make a similar game but with colors and trick cards for more fun. After that, his family decided to make some copies and sell them. It’s amazing how much UNO has grown since then. Today, an estimated 80% of game-playing households own an UNO card set. All it takes is a simple idea in order to make something amazing. You just have to be willing to do it.
