Making Memories at Wrestling State

What a week to be a Longhorn!
The Inola Longhorns wrestling team had three players qualify for state this year. Delsin Bynum, Brody Jenkins and Dalton Diacon. Senior wrestler Brody Jenkins earning State Runner Up, topped off the state tournament in the 195 weight division. Sophomore Dalton Diacon lost in his first matchup at state, knocking him out of the tournament. Even though state didn’t go how the sophomore Dalton Diacon wanted it to go, he is just a sophomore, so he has two more years to compete and try to take state. Junior Delsin Bynum got pinned in his first match in state. Although it didn’t go as well as Delsin Bynum wanted it to he was still able to make it to state. Which is no something very many people can say.
State Runner Up, Brody Jenkins said, “It was a good experience. I was proud of myself. It’s sad that it’s over, but now I am off to do better things.” Coming home with a silver state medal in wrestling is a pretty “good experience.” Although our wrestlers may not have won state, they were able to make it to state and compete, where other wrestlers could not. That is definitely something to be proud of.
